Afi wadi al Maawil, the tranquil oasis

We found this village just by scrolling through google maps to see if there is anything interesting along the road to Nakhal. The pictures sold this place to us and we had a short stop - and we did not regret it. It is only an hour from Muscat what makes it a perfect place for a weekend picnic - I am sure that even during the summer the temperature is pleasant under the palm trees and around the water channels. There are old ruins to explore, a nice little village but surely the highlight is to stroll around the gardens!
