How we did not visit Bimmah sinkhole but explored a hidden beach?
Finn loves sinkholes and caves - anything what makes Eva claustrophobic. Not far from Muscat there is a famous and supposedly beautiful sinkhole where it is also possible to swim, and we decided to visit it. Unfortunately, the sinkhole and the area around it is fenced and was not open - so we ended up discovering the beaches around Bimmah. It was super interesting - the whole beach looked like fossilized sea bottom! Spotted a note on Google maps - Hidden beach and of course we had to drive there: always fun to drive offroad next to the highway :). We did find it and it was indeed hidden as one could only see it from really close - however it had the usual trash problem which took away from the fun factor. Alma and Eva did go into the water: there were big waves but also significant pull, so we needed to be careful, but it was super fun!
On the way home we drove to Dayqah Dam which was also closed - we had a short walk in the wadi below. Eventually we did manage to visit the sinkhole and together with Dayqah Dam they make up a nice and easy day trip suitable for warmer months - you can read about our visit HERE.
When trash is hidden, Hidden beach looks like paradise!
